Maybe try a little more flour and less oil. I have talked about blackstrap molasses before. I’ve experimented in the past with making molasses cookies with three different fats–butter, shortening, and coconut oil and while I’m a butter girl through and through, the cookies made with coconut oil were my favorite. Fresh squeezed fruit juice is a live whole food (full nutrient density) and turns the body alkaline when ingested, where as in processed juices full of added sugars where the nutrient density-(phyto nutrients, probiotics, enzymes, caritinoids, etc) has been destroyed, turns the ph acidy. If it still tastes bad to you then put in less BSM, turmeric, and/or VCO until you get used to the flavor. Plus by making them this way, you receive the healthful benefits of coconut oil! If your recipe calls for molasses, we think Trader Joe’s Organic Blackstrap Molasses will add a depth of flavor not found in regular or dark molasses. She added that the molasses could be taken with any fruit juice to substitute beet juice. That’s a win/win right there in my book.
